Meg just discovered this awesome palette from Benefit on a recent trip. It comes with instructions for where to put what, which is so helpful. Perfect if you want to lighten your load or if you’re a minimalist packer at heart.

If your little one is used to sleeping with a sound machine, don’t despair. You can now give him the gift of sleep anywhere you go with this cordless, compact sound machine — it’s just like the original Marpac Dohm, but in the perfect size for travel.

March is upon us and the days are finally getting longer. Yes, the promise of spring is what keeps us moving forward into the six months of sun and warmth. Here are some of our monthly picks, rounded up from our staff and from readers, that are worth sharing – enjoy!

~ Kristen Toshner, Style Editor

Baby Milestone Stickers ~ $13

First St. Patty’s Day? Yes! Our Editor, Melissa, LOVED these milestone stickers in her daughter’s first year. There are 32 high quality unisex stickers for age milestones as well as holidays. They’ll be no more asking yourself, “when was this taken??”.

InterDesign Clear Linus Lazy Susan ~ $13+

Thanks to my recent move, I’m on a major organizing kick. This lazy susan from Container Store is awesome for so many pantry items! Spices, oils etc. Just spin it around til you find what you need rather than rifling through rows of bottles.

Skiphop Playview Expandable Enclosure ~ $160

This new play pen enclosure from Skip Hop is modern and understated (though not cheap!). It’s perfect for my little guy, who needs a little more space than a Pack N Play. You can make a number of different configurations with this, no matter where or how you’re using it.

*See below for more affordable (though not as cute!) play pen options.

Alternate options:

Hunter Kids’ Rain Boot ~ $ varies

For most of the country, spring and summer mean rain and storms. Hunter boots are the best of the best and will not wear down on the bottom and start leaking water after 2 weeks like (cough) many other cheap brands.

Forget the kids, mom needs good rain boots too. These are on sale at 6pm.com! They’re still an investment, but I have had my pair for 12 years now. That means a lot coming from a Seattlite!

Salad in a Jar ~ $ 11

Meg: “I stumbled across this book on a recent stop into Anthrologie and I love!!! With warmer weather upon us, we’re switching from hot foods to cold. And since Lucie has Celiac’s Disease, preparing lunches for school is always a struggle; but with just a little effort and planning, you can bring a delicious — and hearty! — salad along to work instead of eating another burrito. Nicoise, chef’s salad, fattoush, curried chicken: yes please! Whole foods, FTW!

This jar is my favorite for salad making. I even send it to school with the kids and they love shaking it up and feasting on their salads.

Copper Pearl 3-Pack Burp Cloths ~ $20

This beautiful 3-pack of burp cloths has become my go-to baby gift. IMO, there is just no better cloth for absorbency — and they’ll literally the cutest prints on the market.

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer ~ $54

Dyson makes a similar version to this styler, but it’s big bucks. I decided to give this less expensive version a try, and I am super happy with it! Quick drying power and able to add volume and curl at the same time consolidating my hair drying and styling process.

Old Navy Striped Tie Front Dress ~ $20

I can remember picking out a spring/Easter dress every year growing up. It still feels nostalgic for me! This lil’ dress is so cute and can be worn well into other times of year with the seasonless stripe print.

HABA My Very First Games – First Orchard ~ $25

We’ve had an unseasonably cold winter in Seattle which has meant more snow days then ever for us and -GULP- dreaded canceled school days. This is a fun game my 2- and 5-year-old can both grasp and play together. It’s very simple to understand – a diluted version of the original game Orchard. The pieces aren’t teeny tiny – even the dice, so little hands can hold them easier than miniature game pieces.

Quiksilver Kids Monkey Caged Sandal ~ $30

We are preparing for a Hawaiian vacay at the end of the month. I always have to get creative for my boys because they don’t like flip flops just yet and Native Shoes tend to give them blisters (and at $40+ I am not a fan). I found these at Zappos and loved them. No crazy patterns or prints. Durable velcro straps for adjusting in many ways and a decent tread. $30 price point. Done and done.

New Balance Fresh Foam Sport Lightweight Running Shoe ~ $70

Whenever I can find a good performing, nice looking athletic shoe, I get excited. This is an awesome price point for a perfect sneaker for running – or – for getting coffee in your yoga pants.

Target Toddler Girls Flutter Sleeve One-Piece Swimsuit ~ $12

Swimsuits have arrived, people! This might be the cutest thing ever and just might make me try for a baby girl (JK my 5- and 2-year-old sons are currently on a mission to kill me). Scoop these Target suits up before they sell out!

Tula Coast Beyond – Tula Explore Baby Carrier ~ $179

It’s no secret that our editorial staff loves Tula. The new Coast Carrier is amazing with a wider mesh panel for ventilation. This carrier is perfect for active lifestyles and warmer climates and is available in a number of fun prints! See also: Favorite Baby Carriers and Best Hiking Carriers

Old Navy Pullover Hoodie for Toddler Boys ~ $10

This is such a cute hoodie for colder spring morning – and the price is right! I am just such a fan of little boys in light pinks and purples.

Cushybaby Bath Kneeler and Elbow Rest Pad Set ~ $34

Boy, do I wish I could’ve had this for those earliest bathing days where you truly need to be right beside the tub. This would make also make a great item for grandparents to get super comfy while bathing a small child.

Babydeedee Oversized Cotton Baby and Toddler Quilt ~ $65

Baby deedee is one of my top picks when it comes to sleep sacks. Their Sleep Nest Teddy is always my top pick for a winter sleep sack with a 2.5 TOG. They recently sent me a sample of their new blanket and I love it so much, I typically end up snatching it from my sons – ha! Winter ain’t over yet, might as well snuggle up!

Cohen (5 yrs old) loves snuggling our new baby deedee blanket!

When spring hit during my second pregnancy, I was totally showing! I needed a few essentials to wear as the weather changed. Kimi and Kai Abigail Off the Shoulder Maternity Dress ~ $98

Finding a special occasion maternity dress for a wedding or gala can be super stressful. This off-shoulder dress comes in two colors, is under $100 and is sooooo comfortable.

Motherhood Maternity Skinny Jeans ~ $45 ($31 with 30% off code: VIP)

This highly-rated denim is perfect for spring. Bonus: the full panel is a light tan, which is invisible under your fave white tops.

All things holiday are amongst us! I know I speak for many of our readers when I say I’m excited for the season this year. I’m not sure why, but this year feels different for me.

It’s been a crazy time in our country (jeez, or WORLD for that matter) and no matter how the year is ending, how nuts the year has been, or how insane our weekly schedule is, the holiday traditions ground our family and bring us back to home base.

Here are some fun items I am loving as we embark on all things sparkly, glittery and holiday!

Thymes Heirlum Pumpkin Candle ~ $29

This year I made a switch to Thymes candles. The price point is higher than some, but the burn time is insanely long – over 65 hours! The fragrance is also a bit more tame, and not overpowering like with some scented candles. I’m looking forward to burning these from now through December!

Rocketbook Wave Smart Notebook ~ $27

Our editor, Alicia, just ordered one of these bad boys. She’s excited to have her written notes from work pushed out to an app for digital storage – and to erase the ink off the pages when she’s done with them! Would also love this for grocery and to-do lists at home. Hello holiday shopping lists?!

Pottery Barn Advent Calendar ~ $59+

This year, I’m focusing on creating more memories and experiences throughout the holiday season, while getting my kids just a few special gifts that come in a box for Christmas. Advent calendars are a great way to bring a little delight into the days leading up to Christmas and through Hanukkah — and kids always love counting down!

Christmas version:

Hanukkah version:

Summer Fridays Overtime Mask ~ $44

After hearing a number of friends rave about this face mask, I just had to try it. It gives my skin a nice polish as the weather shifts, and the light pumpkin scent feels seasonally appropriate – HA.

Skip Hop Bear Winter Edition Mealtime Set ~ $20

My boys love these dedicated dining sets that correspond with holiday themes. We will use this winter-themed set through January, for sure — and you know how I feel about buffalo check.

Construction Site on Christmas Night ~ $12

The latest edition to the series is just in time for the holiday season. My boys love these books, and we are super excited to add this book to our holiday line up.

Merkury Innovations Charging Station ~ $18+

If I could show you the “charging corner” of our kitchen counter, you would probably seriously relate. You know, the place where the wireless speaker, our phones, iPads and Kindle all end up when they need to be juiced. After having this in my life, I would sell these things door to door – that’s how much I love them!

Because the station doesn’t come with cords, here is what you need.

Tucker + Tate Cozy Reindeer Hat ~ $19

Move over elf hats, this deer beanie is so cute it makes my ovaries hurt.

Lolleez Organic Throat Soothing Pops; Pack of 3 ~ $29

Tis’ the season for colds and the crud. These have been a major hit in our house this week as my two boys navigate our first round of colds.

Hanna Andersson Holiday Long Johns in Organic Cotton ~ $44

You better believe my family is rocking holiday ‘jams already. Day after Halloween is go time! Hanna always has my fave prints when it comes to holiday styles. Typically this time of year, you can always find them on sale (like, now!). This year I am digging the holiday gnome print.

Hanukkah print:

That’s it for November. I hope you found something to get you a little excited about the season. Happy Thanksgiving!

The post On our Radar: Cat & Jack Adaptive Clothing for Kids with Sensory Issues and Disabilities appeared first on Lucie's List.

]]>
I know many readers out there have kids living with sensory issues, illness, or physical disabilities. Target’s new additions to its Cat and Jack line – aimed at providing “sensory-friendly” and “adaptive” clothing specifically designed for young children living with disabilities or other health issues – made us turn our heads.

Finally!!

Last summer, Cat and Jack premiered its sensory-friendly apparel line, and just this week, Target released the Cat & Jack Adaptive clothing collection (insert the loud cheers of parents from all corners of North America!).

This line is engineered to fit the needs of the many children who wear medical devices or have sensory sensitivities. It currently has 40 pieces, including puffer jackets, t-shirts, bodysuits, sleepwear, and hooded sweatshirts for boys and girls.

The adaptive apparel designs boast the same cute prints and colors we’re used to from Cat & Jack – and the same price point – but with added benefits.

With features like side and back snaps, zipper closures, and hidden abdominal openings, the clothes in the adaptive apparel line make getting ready in the morning a much smoother, easier process, and ensure kids stay comfortable all day long. Plus, the clothes are made with durable, extra-soft cotton knits for an added cozy touch (and easy laundering).

Rejoice! We are so excited for this collection and can’t wait to see if Target expands it further, as this exact kind of selection presents such a need for so many families (I mean….. I don’t like rough seams or tags and I’m adult….).

Pieces we Love

View the full line here.

Girls Adaptive Fleece Jacket ~ $34.99

What’s more cozy than a fleece jacket in fall? This style features an open-back with a snap at the neck for easy on and off.

*Available in sizes: toddler (2T-5T) and girls (XS-XL). Also available in blue (toddler and boys).

Boys Adaptive Long Sleeve Tee ~ $6

The tagless and flat seams alleviate normal irritations many children struggle with. We all know that sometimes cutting a tag just won’t cut it (yes, pun intended).

*Available in other prints for boys and girls in toddler and kids sizes.

Girls Adaptive Sweatshirt ~ $7

Love the rainbow heart print. This style features a hidden opening for easy abdominal access.

*Available in other sizes and styles for boys and girls.

There are so many more cute pieces — see the full line here.

And thank you, Target, for filling this gap!
